Okay well, Yes & No. I have been running a development agency for 2 years now. I only found some success in the last 6 months. I have been developing all sorts since I was around 13. It’s not like it was anything decent. A majority of my skills came from the last 3 years of working in the professional field. I get incredibly frustrated, As a person who works in the service industry you deal with something most other businesses also have, Clients! I love them. These people are fantastic. You all have the same drive to be greater and do better. But the service industry sucks. It’s so tiring, issues come up all the time. you don’t see eye to eye with the end user. It’s a game of majority loss. So at the end of my day, you would think – I close my laptop and walk away. Hmmmmm. No – I drag it with me: Mainly to get the job done at 11 PM but I still find so much joy in making tools and testing my own crazy ideas.
This helped me advance my skills incredibly quickly. The make & break method. – Make something. Then it breaks and try to not do that. I still love this field. I’m glued to blogs like TechCrunch, StartupZA & creators like LTT, MKBHD & fireship. I stay up to watch every WWDC & Apple Event. I live and breathe this space. I hope I still do in the future. I still enjoy it. All the time? Not so much. Go touch some grass or something. Also, the sheer amount of caffeine I consume while working is insane so it’s for my benefit I find some space. š
Do I still enjoy developing?
