Work // Life Balance

haha… I knew I would be inconsistent with this whole blogging thing. at least I’m not shit posting. Anyways – I’ve been super busy. Exploring SAAS opportunities. I build these platforms every day for other people so I wanted to do my own. 2 Days in I have a stable build. needs some more changes before going live so let’s see. I’m trying to employ a “less is more” mindset. I have found that I spend more time on the complexities rather than actually getting results so trying to spend more time doing and less time on my IDE. I’m sure this app will go unused by most people besides me and my clients but it’s a learning opportunity. I want to expand into in-house dev. I’m in the middle of rebranding and restructuring to help me scale. I spent a lot of time last year working 16+ hour days for clients and it wasn’t healthy. but in the service industry, it’s a must. I sell my time and knowledge. But I’d like to separate that and sell a service or benefit and not my physical time. It’s a hard transition and will take time but I’m willing to be patient. I’m so glad I learnt how to keep to it rather than give up a week in.

My 21st birthday is in a few weeks so I had a chance to look back over the last 3 years and I have done well. Started a profitable business. Pulled myself out of debt and started to become a trusted member in my professional career. I wanted to slow down but I miss read that. I wanted to feel less overwhelmed. My W//L balance was a mess. It made me unhappy and resentful. I feel like I can find that balance but still stay persistent and innovative! – It just needs refocus and regrouping. Cutting ties and taking hits to make sure I am in the right lane.

Anyway, I hope I keep to this. I might forget about this place again. As I said, I’m hoping to expand my outreach with more than just an unread blog.
